Since launching back in May 2008, the MPC has become one of the most anticipated fixtures on Asia’s poker calendar – attracting huge fields in search of a life changing payday and the famous “Red Dragon” main event trophy. MPC 28 will run from 26 January to 11 February 2018 and feature 31 official Asia Player of the Year (APOY) events, culminating with the HK$15,000 buy-in Red Dragon offering a HK$10 million guaranteed prize pool. Other highlights of the series include the HK$8,000 Baby Dragon, HK$5,000 Megastack, HK$50,000 No Limit Hold’em and HK$100,000 Single Day High Roller. The big question is whether MPC 28 can break its current attendance records yet again. From a tiny field of just 33 main event players when it debuted a decade ago, the Red Dragon at MPC 27 drew a massive 1,308 players with a first prize of HK$3.14 million. In total there were 6,921 entries across the 17 events with a whopping HK$67.99 million in prize money paid out. Clearly poker in Macau is alive and well!
