A museum with a difference

Written by Ben Blaschke

There’s quite a bit happening in Macau this year, with three of the eight new properties currently being built in Cotai due to open in the next few months.

On 27 May, Galaxy Entertainment Group will officially open both of their new casino offerings – Galaxy Phase 2 and Broadway – on the Cotai Strip with Melco-Crown’s Macao Studio City due to follow soon after.

But there is more to look forward to than casinos, with Ponte 16 Resort also preparing to open Macau’s first 3D museum. With non-gaming attractions becoming an increasingly important part of the region’s future, Ponte 16 Macau 3D Museum will cover 18,000 square feet and provide visitors with a unique sensory experience as they not only witness the artworks but become part of them.

Take photos in classic Michael Jackson scenes, see Jurassic dinosaurs come to life, climb the Ruins of St Paul and stand atop Macau Tower!

The museum boasts over 150 photography points in six different theme zones and is also the world’s first museum with 4D paintings.

Ponte 16 Macau 3D is due to open in mid-2015.
