APT Cambodia returns with a bang

Written by Ben Blaschke

It’s been a frustrating few weeks for the Asian Poker Tour following the unfortunate cancellation of November’s APT Vietnam by Ho Tram Resort Casino, but there was plenty to smile about in Sihanoukville following the successful return of APT Cambodia earlier this week.

Originally scheduled for May, APT Cambodia was postponed at the time after the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) caused a clash by unexpectedly changing the dates of its APPT Macau event – but the new APT Cambodia scheduling proved a popular one with 724 entries representing 29 different countries across the 18 events.

Ironically given recent events, the US$1,100 Main Event was won by a Vietnamese player with Linh Tran outlasting a field of 99 starters to claim the US$26,130 first prize.

Congratulations also goes to Japan’s Tetsuya Tsuchikawa who won three side events in three consecutive days by taking down two Deep Stack Turbo events and the 6-handed Turbo.

The APT now prepares for the Asian Poker Tour Finale in the APT Poker Room in Manila from 9 to 17 December.
