“Curly” Seals the deal

Written by Ben Blaschke

One of the most popular tournaments on the local poker scene was run and won on the weekend with a hefty field of 445 players taking part in ANZPT Sydney at The Star. In the end it was Sydney local Jim Psaros topping the field to claim a AU$183,000 top prize, however we’d like to congratulate our good friend Emanuel “Curly” Seal on his impressive runner-up finish – earning him AU$175,000 in the process.

“Curly” is one of Australia’s most successful bookmakers and an avid follower of WGM, with many of us having spent countless hours listening to his tales over a beer or trying to get one over on him at the poker tables.

He has a number of strong tournament finishes over the years including 10th at the 2007 Aussie Millions, however this is by far his most significant result. Ironically, it was his second final table and third cash of the week – completing a highly successful week in Sydney.

It’s always great to see WGM’s readers doing well, so congratulations “Curly” on a great result!
