If you have noticed, I tend to back a lot of underdogs at the line in Monday night football. I do this because I think that night football and stand-alone fixtures tend to really ignite teams that are suffering from bad form and mental tiredness created from losing. I use this theory on both the NRL and the NFL.
Also, the NRL schedules their blockbusters on Friday nights but try to have competitive games on the Monday night even if they don’t feature top of the table teams. The NRL can do this because they have the luxury of scheduling which day fixture is played on weeks out rather than prior to the start of the season when the draw is done. This is by far the best way of doing it and I wish the AFL and NFL would adopt this sensible approach to getting the right game on at the right time.
I think the Tigers will remain competitive against the Broncos in Brisbane tonight.
