This weekend it’s all about golf. All majors are special and they are all special for different reasons. The Open Championship (the British Open) is famous for driving wind, rain and sand, and for wet weather gear and shivering players. Massive fast greens, even bigger bunkers and wind swept links style golf at its best – you just have to love it!
I’m getting right behind Tiger this weekend. He appears to be ready and is playing better than anyone. If his putter is working then all you will have to do is line up and collect the cash.
The Tour de France is moving towards its climax and there has been no change – it’s all about Wiggins and Team Sky. There is motor racing, plenty of international horse racing and the baseball is starting to heat up over in the US.
Down south there is plenty of rugby, league and Australian football to sink your teeth into. The Super 15 finals start this weekend and I expect both favorites (Reds and Crusaders) to record easy wins against South African opponents.
Proper football is also just around the corner, so all of you round ball fanatics will just have to sit on your hands for a few more weeks.
Good luck and good punting.
