Well, it’s the week before Santa comes to town so let’s hope he has a few winners for us in his overloaded sack this Christmas.
God bless America is all I can say when it comes to sport at this time of year – there is plenty of NFL and basketball action to keep us entertained. Green Bay, New England, Indianapolis, Denver and Chicago should all put their respective opponents to the sword and they should all do it with ease. Danger games loom for Miami, Dallas and Washington but they should all find a way to win. The three best games feature Vikings vs Texans, Giants vs Ravens and the 49ers vs Seahawks. These games will be tough and have huge playoff implications for all involved. I’m going to take the Vikings, Ravens and 49ers at the spread, however these will all be very close games.
There is a full round of EPL games going on for lovers of the round ball, however it looks like an average round of football with a lot of good teams hosting pretty bad teams. The pick of the games will be West Ham vs Everton as this clash has huge implications for both teams. A win for the Hammers would see them leapfrog back into the top half of the table, but a win for Everton might push them into the top four!
The other sport with plenty of action is cricket! The KFC Big Bash from Australia is providing plenty of great action and there are matches on most evenings. If you like big hitting and fielders performing gymnastics then this is for you! There is also plenty of international cricket going on as the Kiwis take on South Africa, the Poms battle India and Australia is getting ready to take on Sri Lanka on Boxing Day!
It’s not the best time of year for sport but at least there is enough on the agenda to keep us entertained this festive season.
Good luck and good punting.
