The golf in the US will start to heat up again following Adam Scott’s win at the US Masters as the players head to Quail Hollow for the Wells Fargo Championship. This is a nice lead up to the lucrative Players Championship next weekend. The Players Championship is the unofficial fifth major and is one that will see the world’s best teeing off at the exciting Sawgrass course in the Deep South. I will provide a rundown of this tournament next week so make sure you tune in for that.
The NBA playoffs continue this weekend as eight of the 16 remaining clubs wave goodbye to their season. Now we will start to find out who is really in the hunt for the Championship. In the west the Thunder and the Spurs will start hot favorites in their matchups while in the East it will be the Knicks and the Heat who will dominate betting. I can’t see the Thunder or the Heat losing in this round so if you are looking for an upset look to the Knicks and the Spurs to possibly run into some trouble.
China will be cheering on Ding Junhui in the World Championship of Snooker being played at the Crucible in England. Victory would be China’s first Crucible title and continue the nation’s emergence as a sporting powerhouse. Hometown hero Ronnie O’Sullivan also looks in ominous form in a tournament that has thrown up an amazing amount of upsets in the early the rounds. Both Ding and O’Sullivan are through to the quarter-finals
The cold weather has arrived down south which means that the local football is really starting to heat up. There is a full round of Super 15 Rugby and NRL while the AFL has some great bets. I like the following teams on the handicap – Collingwood, GWS, North Melbourne, Adelaide, Richmond, Gold Coast, Sydney, Carlton and West Coast.
Good luck and good punting.
