There is so much on at the moment I just don’t know how to fit it all in. I will be recording a lot of sport over the weekend, even while I’m channel surfing. Here is a very brief rundown and a few things to think about before you place your bets.
The NBA Playoffs: It’s down to the final few games of the season. Just keep backing the Heat.
Football: International World Cup Qualifiers from all over the world continue. Shop around for good prices and be mindful of home-field advantage and weak teams that have nothing to play for.
US Open golf: Go Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia. Look for players that hit the fairway.
Champions Trophy cricket: The best eight teams in the world battle it out in England. South Africa and England are my value bets in these conditions.
International rugby: The All Blacks should be too good and the Lions will continue to impress down in Australia.
AFL: It’s a tough split round. Hawthorn v Carlton on Friday is very hard to pick. I am leaning towards the Blues at the line if they can mentally lift from their shattering loss last weekend. Richmond will beat up the struggling Adelaide Crows and the Bulldogs will give Collingwood a real test on Sunday.
NRL: The Sharks, Rabbits, Roosters and Storm all look like good things. In the other games, look for value and do your research.
Ice Hockey: The Bruins and Blackhawks will be fighting it out for the Stanley Cup. My mail tells me the Blackhawks are the team to beat.
There is also motor sport, baseball and tennis being played if all of this wasn’t enough. I will be surviving on coffee over one of the best weekends of sport you could ever wish for.
Good luck and good punting.
