Well, I hope you followed my advice in the NFL. It’s my favorite sport and over the last 10 years I’ve only had one losing year. It was great to see Ray Lewis and the Ravens turn back the clock and knock over the gallant Colts. The Ravens will travel to Mile High to take on the Broncos next week, which will be another cracker of a game. I will make sure to give you my four tips for the second week of the NFL playoffs before the weekend.
Tennis is back in full force as players prepare for the Australian Open. To be honest, I don’t give two hoots about this sport outside of the Grand Slam tournaments, but for tennis purists, the lead-up tournaments are an important form guide. Serena won the Brisbane International and she will be hard to beat in Melbourne. Her biggest rival will be the heat. Djokovic will start strong favorite in the men’s draw and I reckon if he is at his best for seven straight games he will lift the trophy.
The cricket has been great this year with Australia beating the Sri Lankans in a clean sweep. Again, I hope you took my advice here, and won yourself some money. The real test for the Aussies will come in the next 12 months when they play the Indians in India, and the English both away and at home. It’s a great time to be a Test cricket lover at the moment. Don’t write off the Sri Lankans in the 50-over matches coming up, they will prove much sterner opposition in the shortened version of the game.
The KFC T20 Big Bash League is proving to be fantastic entertainment – it’s a shame we are heading into the last round before the finals. My advice is to get on the Strikers or the Hurricanes to win the title. The two Melbourne teams are going to lose some of their best players to the Australian team very soon, and neither represent good value in future markets.
Good luck and good punting.
