This article first appeared in the Mar/Apr 2013 issue of World Gaming magazine.
For those of you who didn’t know already, WGM’s resident sports betting guru James Potter (Big Jim), has been giving daily tips on our website, wgm8.com, since the start of 2012.
Big Jim had a good 2012, providing wgm8.com readers with daily tips on the sporting events around the globe that matter. He continues to give a broad range of tips on many different sports using his contacts in the industry to get some of the best mail going around (for those that don’t know, in sports betting lingo “mail” means “information”).
January has given those who follow Big Jim’s tips a very healthy start to their 2013 ledger. Of the 31 days in January Big Jim tipped 19 winners and only 12 losers. Some of the highlights include:
- Sri Lanka beating Australia at $3.35
- Millwall winning an FA Cup tie at $2.40
- Leeds at +0.5 goals in an FA Cup tie at $2.40
- Bubba Watson’s top four finish at the PGA Hyundai Tournament of Champions at $2.25
There was a 21.5 percent return on investment for the month. This is an impressive profit, and is of course the most important figure of all. To put this number into perspective, a long-run 5 percent return on turnover in the world of sports betting is considered an exceptional result.
If you had read Big Jim’s weekend reviews, previews and NFL finals specials you would have received some excellent advice throughout January. He suggested that Australian Open winner Victoria Azarenka was a good value investment at 5/1, and runner up Li Na (who started an even money bet in the final) was a good long shot bet at 25/1. He also predicted that Novac Djokovic was going to have a huge 2013. Big Jim’s tips on the NFL were also big winners, and his mail on the Super Bowl-winning Baltimore Ravens as being the best long shots in the NFL finals at 20/1 certainly spoke for itself.
No sports bettor wins every bet, and you can always expect to have some good months and some bad months. But if you had followed Big Jim’s tips religiously since we started posting them on wgm8.com a little over a year ago, you would be in front – and that’s what matters. Big Jim concentrates on a wide range of sports and tries to give tips on the most important games being played daily – the ones that are of particular interest to sports-loving fans.
Normally to receive such a range of quality tips you would have to pay cold hard cash to some sports-betting information website, but at wgm8.com you get a daily tip, a weekend review and a weekend preview every week, simply as part of our service. Big Jim is one of the internet’s finest sports-betting forecasters so jump on board and back a winner.
