Grand Lisboa casino in Macau has its fifth birthday tomorrow, and in celebration of the milestone, Grand Lisboa today held the opening ceremony for its “Grand Lisboa fifth anniversary wishing tree”. Visitors to the casino can write personal wishes on wishing cards and put them on the wishing tree, and also enter a draw to win cash prizes.
The ceremony was held on the ground floor lobby of the casino and was officiated by Dr Ambrose So (Director of SJM), Mr Louis Ng (Director and Chief Operating Officer of SJM) and Mr Frank McFadden (President of Joint Ventures and Business Development).
Dr So said, “Our Lisboa brand, with a history of over 40 years, is world famous, and … uniquely Macau. SJM’s flagship property the Grand Lisboa built on the brilliant past to create a bright future … we not only rose to new physical heights, but also raised the standards for casino entertainment, fine dining and hospitality. Like the lotus flower, rising beautifully and confidently, the Grand Lisboa has become a new landmark of Macau since its opening.”
The wishing tree celebration will continue until 29 February.
The 2012 Grand Lisboa Premium Service Awards ceremony was also held today. Twenty staff from various departments of Grand Lisboa received recognition for their outstanding working performance. In his speech Mr Louis Ng thanked the staff for their support and urged them to continue with their good work. There was a cake-cutting and toasting to celebrate the fifth birthday of Grand Lisboa, and red packets were given to over 10 staff and staff family members whose birthday fell on the same day as Grand Lisboa’s.
