Written by Ben Blaschke

Sands China has opened the Phase 4 development of Sands Cotai Central, adding an extra 100,000 square meters of retail space and more than 25 new stores to the property.

The new space will also see a number of restaurants open their doors later this year, including modern Portuguese concept Chiado and Chinese restaurant Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao, described as bringing a contemporary twist to classic Beijing, Szechuan and Shanghai cuisine.

Among the major additions to retail at Sands Cotai Central – which is to be rebranded The Londoner Macao as part of a US$1.1 billion makeover starting late 2018 – is Apple Cotai Central. Other new brands include Calvin Klein Performance and Razzle, MLB, Esprit, Guess, Watson’s, Noble Mart, Levi’s, Florsheim, Timberland, The North Face, Boy London, Zaxy and Bauhaus.

“I am pleased to further expand our retail offering at Shoppes at Cotai Central,” said David Sylvester, Executive Vice President of Global Retail for Las Vegas Sands Corp.

“The addition of these new stores, especially the introduction of an iconic Apple Store, continues to ensure we provide our customers with more new-to-market brands, more choice and more amazing experiences.”

Sands Cotai Central, one of four properties owned and operated by Sands China along the Cotai Strip, celebrated its 6th anniversary in April.
