Rugby League is back for the 2014 season and tonight sees one of the most anticipated games of the year as Canterbury host the Brisbane Broncos. The big story here is star fullback Ben Barba, whose horror 2013 saw him request a release from the Bulldogs in order to move back home to Brisbane.
He lines up against his old club with every Brisbane fan in the country hoping he can turn the side’s fortunes around. Long term, that may well happen but with a number of new players in key positions it might take the Broncos a while to find their feet. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, look well settled and should be able to start their season with a win.
