We start this week with our beloved Friday Night Football as the Newcastle Knights look to continue their brilliant start to the 2015 National Rugby League season. They head to struggling Cronulla tonight and the difference between the two sides couldn’t be any starker. While the Sharks continue to limp along with their confidence clearly shot, the Knights are riding high and should have no trouble notching another victory in this one.
Saturday night sees Southampton’s quest to keep their fledgling top four hopes alive when they play host to a tricky Hull side. Having exceeded all expectations to find themselves well and truly entrenched in the top half of the table, the Saints have recovered from a brief slump in recent weeks and will be confident of improving in a record that reads just three losses in 16 home games so far this season.
Finally, we’re off to Old Trafford for the Manchester derby as United host rivals City in a mouth-watering contest. This again promises to produced plenty of goals with both sides playing a decent brand of football in recent weeks. Despite a miserly 1-0 win to City in November, this clash has historically been high scoring with at least three goals scored in seven of their past nine meetings at an average of almost four per game.
