With the ATP’s clay court specialists still clinging to the final remnants of the clay court season before moving to hard court in preparation for the US Open, it’s no surprise that a number of them will meet the same opponents in consecutive weeks.
Today’s opening round action at the Hamburg Open sees Tommy Robredo and Alexander Zverev face off just a few days after veteran Robredo brushed aside 18-year-old Zverev 6-3, 6-4 in the ATP Bastad semi-finals. There is no reason to suggest a different result this time around and at $1.50 Robredo looks to be great value.
