We’ve made a habit of starting our weekends with a bet on the National Rugby League and given our excellent track record betting on rugby league we see no reason to stop. Tonight sees Canterbury head to Brisbane as two of the game’s top clubs do battle. We’d be surprised to see the visitors come away with the points this time though. The Broncos have scored an impressive 164 points in their past four home games and boast four wins in a row against Canterbury. Broncos at the line.
Saturday is the day we’ve all been waiting for – the start of the new Premier League season! We prefer to keep our betting to a minimum during the first few weeks so we can get a gauge on form, but we do like the look of Arsenal at home to West Ham tonight. The Gunners have been in fine form in the pre-season, knocking in 14 goals in four friendlies before beating Chelsea 1-0 in the Community Shield. We like them to win by a couple of goals tonight.
Finally we’re headed back to the NRL as the in-form Sydney Roosters take on the terrible Newcastle Knights. Everything about this game suggests a big Roosters win. They’ve won seven games in a row and boast the best defense in the competition while Newcastle has lost 13 of their past 15 games and have the worst defense having conceded more than twice as many points as today’s opponents.
