Macau’s highly vaunted “The 13” – touted as the world’s most luxurious hotel – is 70 percent complete and on track to open in late 2016.
WGM was granted an exclusive site tour of Hong Kong billionaire Stephen Hung’s jaw-dropping creation last week and found a property quickly taking shape – even if there are currently only a few glimpses of the uber-luxury The 13 will provide its guests upon completion.
While WGM’s site tour was provided upon the condition of strict secrecy – no photos or trade secrets to be revealed – we can share that the hotel is rapidly taking shape with the building’s shell all but complete and internal fit-out well underway.
Among the more impressive sections is an expansive domed Banquet Hall that wouldn’t look out of place housing the French monarchy and a jaw-dropping pool deck surrounded by one of the world’s largest green walls towering ever upwards. As for bling? This place has enough gold leaf to make Aladdin blush!
However, as promised we can’t offer too much detail until the hotel’s official opening later this year. Originally scheduled to launch on 1 July, a Q4 opening looks more realistic given substantial work is still to be done before government officials can even begin their inspection.
From what we’ve seen, it will be well worth the wait.
