Big Jim's weekend preview

Written by James Potter

It will be another big weekend of sport for us to sink our teeth into over the next few days so hopefully we can back plenty of winners. The NBA playoffs have been good to me so far and I suggest that you just keep backing the favorites because I firmly believe the first round draw is perfectly suited to the top sides. I still think we are heading towards a Heat v Thunder rematch in the finals but there is still plenty of basketball to be played before that happens.

Tonight’s AFL is going to be very exciting and I really like Richmond to bring out their very best. Fremantle is still crippled with injuries and the Tigers have always traveled well. There is also a full round of NRL and Super 15 matches to enjoy. The game of the round in the NRL will be Manly v Souths at Brookvale Oval tonight and I expect this is the game you won’t want to miss. This will be desperately close and I wish I had a solid tip. I’m leaning towards the Rabbitohs but not with a great deal of confidence.

The French Open is just around the corner and the prospect of another Rafael Nadal v Novak Djokovic marathon should have tennis fans salivating. It was an amazing win by Djokovic last week to end against Nadal’s eight-year reign in Monte Carlo which has seen the Serbian rocket to favoritism for the French Open. I think the time is right to get on Nadal. The “Spanish Bull” is more than capable of turning the tables in the French Open so shop around because anything better than $2.50 (6/4) sounds like great value to me.

Good luck and good punting.
