APT Vietnam 2015 a roaring success

Written by Ben Blaschke

The inaugural APT Vietnam has come to an end but it certainly won’t be forgotten anytime soon. The first international poker festival ever held in Vietnam saw curious players arrive at the Ho Tram Resort Casino last week unsure of exactly what to expect but to a man and woman they will leave having enjoyed an amazing week in which the 15-event schedule was complemented by a series of great events including the “Bluffers at The Bluffs” golf tournament, the Welcome Party at Churchill’s Cigar Bar and the very impressive Players Party where guests were treated to a gourmet seafood buffet before partying the night away at Club Nine.

However, it was the APT Vietnam main event everyone had come for with 119 players taking their seats with eyes on the US$29,500 first prize. A number of notables made it through to the final table including Bryan Huang, David Steicke and Sam Razavi but in the end it was Hong Kong’s Kwan Kit Kwok going all the way to be crowned inaugural champion.

Kwok used some well-time aggression and the odd slice of luck to enter heads-up play with a 5 to 1 chip lead over Huang and never took his foot off the pedal to etch his name in the record books.

With its wonderful service, exotic beachside location and 5-star facilities, Ho Tram Resort Casino is set to become a regular and very popular fixture on the local and international tournament circuit and we look forward to returning again in the future.
