The highlight of this week’s English Premier League round might be the battle between Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa. Both teams desperately need three points in the race to avoid relegation. A win for Villa is going to make it very difficult for the bottom three teams to orchestrate any miraculous feats late in the season.
Australian cricket is in turmoil. After nearly two decades of dominance the empire is crumbling. Administrators, coaches and players are now under the spotlight and they are dealing with it very badly. India won’t show any mercy this weekend as they face the weakest Australian cricket team in thirty years. It should be another crushing victory for the home team.
There is a feast of rugby union and rugby league on this weekend. Round two of the NRL will kick off so we can concentrate on football rather than doping-related scandals for a few days. There will be plenty of Super 15 action from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa but the highlight of the rugby union will come from Wales. The Welsh host the English in what promises to be an incredibly important clash. This blockbuster matchup should be a great game and I reckon the Welsh will prevail over their traditional rivals.
