It has been another huge weekend in the world of sport, especially Down Under. Two great wins in the AFL over the weekend mean that Hawthorn will take on Sydney in the grand final, arguably the biggest day in Australian sport. In the NRL grand final on Sunday, Canterbury will play Melbourne and what a great sight it will be to see the best two teams of the year battle it out. I will take a closer look at both of these grand finals in the upcoming weekend preview.
In the FedEx Cup in Atlanta, Brandt Snedeker came away with the win. Snedeker is an out and out good guy whose favorite food is fried chicken. I wonder how much chicken he could buy with the US$10 million he will receive for winning the FedEx Cup trophy and the US$1.44 million for his victory on the weekend. McIlroy and Woods both had their chance but made too many mistakes on the ultra slick greens. Bring on the Ryder Cup!
Liverpool were unlucky to lose against United – they had a man sent off and it wasn’t until late in the game that Man U sealed the victory with a van Persie penalty. City and Arsenal shared the points and Chelsea extended their lead in the title race. The cream always rises in the EPL.
A huge weekend in sport is coming up so stay tuned for the good oil.
Good luck and good punting.
