Australia’s summer of cricket began this weekend, and the first Test seemed destined for a draw after the second day was totally washed out. There isn’t much you can do about the weather, I suppose. Once the shine disappeared from the new ball, the Gabba pitch was pretty conducive to batting and Amla, Kallis, Cowan and Clarke ran amok.
In another great weekend of American football the Colts, Vikings and Tampa Bay recorded excellent victories. This just goes to show that form doesn’t always ring true. All three teams continue their fight for the playoffs.
Luis Suarez secured a much-needed draw on the road for Liverpool. Chelsea were the big losers of the night and are now in danger of losing touch with the Manchester giants, who both keep piling on the victories. In other football news, Stoke City recorded a win against QPR.
Golf, motor racing, tennis and basketball were also on this weekend, but too much sport is never enough!
