Good Food Guide: Estabelecimento De Bebidas Wai Kei

Written by The Panda

Although Macau is small, it has a great variety of cafes. However, among those ordinary family eateries, where can you enjoy some unusual dessert? Hidden in a little street near Macau Mazu temple, there is a small café. It doesn’t have a dazzling front or exaggerated signage – there is only a simple sign with the restaurant name and a few pictures of their food on the door. Welcome to Wai Kei. Besides supplying the general Chinese and western-style rice and noodle dishes, it also provides steamed dishes, Chinese soup and so on. There is charcoal aroma coffee and for those who like nostalgic food it is definitely worth a try!

The owner and staff here will enthusiastically introduce the food to their customers, adding a strong human touch. As for their signature dessert, the Soufflé here has a more yellowish color than elsewhere as the owner adds more egg yolk. But with a soft texture and very rich egg flavor it is delicious!
