Expensive food doesn’t always mean good food. Food should always be judged on quality and taste. Estabelecimento de Comidas Vencedora is an economical Portuguese restaurant, very similar to the ordinary Hong Kong cha chaan tengs (local diners). This restaurant has a 93-year history spanning three generations. The grandfather of the family was the one who first learned how to prepare authentic Portuguese cuisine back in the day when he managed a restaurant for the Portuguese. He then opened Vencedora which was one of the few Portuguese restaurants in Macau owned by a Chinese person.
The bacalhau rolls, braised oxtail, curry beef flank, roast chicken and roast pork fillet are a few of the popular dishes favored by the locals. Bacalhau is Portuguese for salted codfish and it can be quite salty at times but is just right at Vencedora. Along with various homemade flavoring spices, Vencedora’s dishes are unique and tasty.
