Good Food Guide: Mexicana

Written by The Panda

Mexicana has all the things you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant including the obligatory sombreros adorning the walls and a spicy sauce rack offering an awe-inspiring 50 different types of hot sauce! All the expected Mexican fare is on offer including burritos, chili, chimichangas and fajitas. Everything is freshly prepared. You get free nachos and home-made salsa to whet your appetite and while the menu is not particularly expansive the food is well presented.

The tacos are a firm favorite either with crunchy or soft shells and a choice of beef, chicken, fish, pork or a combination. Enchiladas are also a good option, especially if you try the house special, the monstrous Mejia, a super-sized enchilada stuffed with chicken, onions, tomatoes, refried beans and Mexican-style rice baked in tomato sauce and drizzled in sour cream. Wash down your very reasonably priced meal with a cool bottle of imported Dos Equis, a margarita and one of their top shelf tequilas. Buen apetito!
