It has taken nine years but the Asia Pacific Poker Tour finally has its first two-time champion.

Australia’s Aaron Lim created history on two counts late on Sunday when he beat a record field of 585 players – the largest international tournament field ever in the Philippines – to take home the PHP6,016,250 first prize.

Lim had previously won APPT Seoul in 2013 and became the first player to win two APPT events. This year’s APPT Manila was the 41st APPT event since the tour began in 2007.

Other notables at the final table included former Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon winner Terry Fan and Macau’s high stakes specialist and President of the Poker King Club Winfred Yu.
