Macau December revenue to continue upward trend

Written by Ben Blaschke

Macau’s gross gaming revenue is on track to enjoy a year-on-year increase of between 12 and 14 percent in December, continuing the city’s recent upwards trend.

According to Bernstein’s Vitaly Umansky, GGR for the first 11 days of the month has come in at MOP$7.55 billion – a 20 percent increase on the same period in 2015. The average daily rate (ADR) of MOP$686 million was also 10 percent higher than November’s average daily rate of $626 million.

“Assuming an ADR of MOP$650 to $670 million for the remainder of this month, December GGR would be in the range of MOP$20.6 billion and MOP$21 billion,” Bernstein said in a note. “This would represent a year-on-year increase of +12 percent to +14 percent.”
