Malaysian gun Sam Nee to play Vietnam Poker Cup

Written by Ben Blaschke

It may be Vietnam’s first truly home grown poker event but the inaugural M88PokerAsia Vietnam Poker Cup (VPC) will also boast an international flavor with M88PokerAsia sponsored pro Sam Nee confirming his attendance.

The 28-year-old Nee is Malaysia’s top-ranked online Multi-Table Tournament (MTT) player with over US$2.3 million in career winnings and came within a whisker of winning a WSOP bracelet in 2014 when he finished runner-up in an AU$2,200 No Limit Hold’em event at WSOP APAC.

Nee is expected to be just the first of a number of M88PokerAsia pros to announce their intended presence in Vietnam. VPC1 will be held at Ho Tram Resort Casino from this Friday 21 to Sunday 23 August with the US$550 Main Event kicking off at 14:00 on Saturday 22 August.

The Ho Tram Poker Room hosted the nation’s first international poker festival, APT Vietnam, in May and is quickly building a reputation as Asia’s number one poker destination.
