The legendary Playboy brand has struck a deal with Sands China Ltd which will bring not one, but two Playboy venues to Macau.
The Playboy Club is set to launch by the end of this year. The luxurious 12,000 square foot club, to be located at the top floor of Sands Macau, will feature Playboy décor and artwork and will offer stunning views of the Macau skyline, a VIP arrival experience, private entertainment and media rooms, live entertainment, private gaming rooms and high limit gaming for the public; as well as a lounge and all that has become synonymous with the Playboy Club brand.
The second phase of Playboy’s Asian invasion will be much anticipated: a fully-fledged Playboy Mansion of over 30,000 square feet. The Playboy Mansion Macau will offer an entirely new nightlife experience capitalising on the allure and history of the legendary Playboy Mansion. The fully-integrated venue will include bars, lounges, a nightclub, gaming and retail. To be located at a Sands China property on the Cotai Strip, the Playboy Mansion is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2012.
Mr Steve Jacobs, President and CEO of Sands China Ltd, said, “Playboy’s entrance into Macau is a welcome addition to Sands China Ltd’s offering for the region, further cementing our promise of providing Asia with unprecedented entertainment and integrated resort amenities for all ages and palates. The location for Playboy Club Macau has seen the likes of Mariah Carey and Michael Wong perform and the presence of the Playboy brand ensures further success and varied entertainment for everyone visiting Macau.”
“The continued popularity of the Playboy brand in Asia and the expected growth of Macau combined with the proven track record of a worldclass operator make this partnership with Sands China a great opportunity,” said Scott Flanders, Chief Executive Officer, Playboy Enterprises, Inc. “The timing of this new agreement could not be any better as this year marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Playboy Club and Playboy Bunny. We look forward to continued expansion of our location based entertainment business around the world.”
We here at World Gaming are eagerly awaiting the Bunnies’ arrival in town, and you can be sure we’ll make it a top priority to cover the launch of the Club and the Mansion. There’ll be no shortage of World Gaming columnists volunteering for those assignments!
