If you’re looking for a chill-out spot with city lights and a panoramic view, Sky 21 provides a perfect end to the day over dinner and drinks.
Upon entering Sky 21, you’re welcomed by a sleek and modern interior design, reminiscent of a Vegas lounge bar with Asian influences, offering a relaxed atmosphere that takes unwinding to the next level, literally and figuratively. Sitting atop a skyscraper in the busy commercial district, you can escape the buzz and fuss of the casinos below.
Stepping back inside, the industrial chic interiors and DJ area contrast with the more subdued open-air deck which is a perfect location from which to view local landmarks including Macau Tower and Grand Lisboa while sipping boutique spirits and gazing at the skyline.
A glass display wall featuring international wines and champagnes is guaranteed to wow even veteran connoisseurs. This is complemented by a cocktail menu offering all the classics and a few new faces, while the impressive beer list includes a wide selection from Asia and across the world.
FUSION SENSATION
Sky 21 is spread across two storeys at the top of Macau’s AIA building. The 2,000 square meter bar and restaurant offers authentic Pan-Asian cuisine with innovative twists, as well as a wide selection of Asian and Western cuisine.
At lunchtime, Sky 21 caters for two styles of dining, with Japanese, Thai and Chinese à la carte and set lunch menus on the lower floor and semi-buffet on the upper floor, where guests can feast on a selection of western food after ordering their chosen main dish. We recommend their famed grilled pork belly and savory lobster.
“Our goal is to introduce Filipino cuisine to Macau,” says senior chef Miguel from the Philippines, introducing the newest additions to the menu.
The first main dish we are offered is the Philippines’ famous Crispy Pata – well-seasoned pork knuckle, deep fried until the skin is perfectly crispy, keeping the meat inside juicy and tender. Then it’s on to Black Pepper Prawn, its spicy pepper fragrance contrasting beautifully with the soft and juicy tiger prawns.
The food is served with the house’s recommended cocktails – the vodka-based Victoria’s Secret, with fresh strawberry and passion fruit puree, and the tequilabased Elegant Mango with Cointreau, mango puree and lemon juice. We also tried the lightly sweet and sour Zesty Sip, a mix of Havana 7 year, lemon juice, orange zest, butterscotch and egg white. Finally, itʼs on to the Pineapple Sensation, with citron vodka, fresh pineapple, pineapple puree and thyme.
As a chic and innovative dining setting with great music and a calendar of regular events to satisfy everyone’s appetite, Sky 21 is ideal for celebrations or for private events and catering.
