The US PGA obviously tops the bill for the weekend’s viewing as the best in the world take on the historic Oak Hill course in New York. As I said in my preview earlier in the week, look for players that can play tight fairway to green golf.
The cricket again will be a highlight for those of you who enjoy the old and ancient game of Test match cricket played over five days. I find these Ashes to be incredibly exciting for many reasons. I have tipped the Aussies again and let’s hope they show some ticker. With the English traveling over to Australia later in the year, every Test in England gives the Australians the opportunity to establish a team that can win the Ashes back in the months to come.
We will have to wait another week for the international rugby to kick off but there is plenty of Australian Rules football and NRL. The rugby league has a particularly interesting round with the Friday night encounter between the Melbourne Storm and the South Sydney Rabbitohs set to be one of the best of the year as well as another cracker on Sunday when Manly host the Warriors in Gosford.
As you can see there are plenty of highlights but most importantly let’s try to back plenty of winners.
