Another big weekend of sport kicks off early today as powerhouse India takes on the West Indies at the ICC Cricket World Cup in Perth, Australia. The bouncy WACA pitch doesn’t usually suit the Indians but they look a class above this inconsistent West Indies side. With Virat Kohli leading the way, we expect India to pile on the runs while their opponents continue to rely too heavily on Chris Gayle to score most of their runs for them. India to win.
The FA Cup quarter finals are on this weekend with Aston Villa and West Brom facing off for the second time in the space of five days at Villa Park. The two sides clashed in the Premier League on Tuesday with Villa emerging with a 2-1 win. We’re looking at a lower scoring game this time around though. Villa’s 15 EPL goals in 28 games this season is by far the fewest of any side while West Brom also average less than a goal a game.
Finally to the National Rugby League in Australia which kicks off this weekend. Many of you will be fairly unfamiliar with rugby league but it is one of the great betting sports in the world and although we tend to wait a few weeks each season to get a feel for form, we like the look of today’s clash between Cronulla and Canberra. Cronulla has recruited very well this season and should be too strong on home soil against a Raiders outfit that we expect to struggle again in 2015.
