We’ll start the weekend’s action by getting in early for the final of the Women’s World Cup in Canada between the United States and Japan on Sunday. A dramatic last minute own goal by England in the semi-finals moved Japan to within one game of defending their title but it’s hard to go past the USA following their impressive 2-0 win over Germany in the semis. USA to win.
Saturday sees another huge international final as Chile hosts Argentina in the final of this year’s Copa America. Our main concern here is the refereeing, with Chile having benefited from some extremely dubious calls during the knockout stages, but the Argentinians should still be too strong. Their 6-1 win over Paraguay in the semi-finals was an emphatic statement of their prodigious talents and we simply can’t see them being beaten.
We’re off to Australia on Sunday for the National Rugby League clash between Manly and Cronulla. We love the look of the Sharks with a 6.5 point start at the line. Only once in the last two months has Cronulla lost by more than six points while last-placed Manly has won by more than six points only twice all season!
