We’ve got an intriguing match-up at the ATP Tour Finals in London tonight as US Open champion Marin Cilic faces one of the men he beat on his road to victory in New York, Tomas Berdych.
These two big hitters have a tight history with Berdych leading the head to head five wins to four and it’s interesting that both lose their opening matches at this event two nights ago by identical scorelines – Berdych hammered 6-1, 6-1 by Stanislas Wawrinka and Cilic 6-1, 6-1 by Novak Djokovic.
There are two factors that sway us in Cilic’s favor. First of all, he has taken care on Berdych three sets to love in their past two meetings. And then there is Berdych’s record when it comes to the big moments in the big events, which isn’t great.
