WGM’s tip for 17 January: Stanislas Wawrinka

The Australian Open moves into the third round which means that we’ll start to see more and more closely fought matches taking place.

This interesting match-up sees the ever-improving Stanislas Wawrinka face-off with young gun Vasek Pospisil for a spot in the Round of 16. Wawrinka enjoyed an impressive 2013 season that saw him move into the world’s top 10 and he will be hoping to push for a first grand slam title over the coming year or two. Canada’s Pospisil looks to be a great prospect for the future with his huge forehand and heavy serving his main weapons.

We can see Pospisil taking a set off Wawrinka here but the Swiss’ big match experience should get him over the line.
