It’s the semi-finals of the Champions League and we start in Madrid as Atletico host English giants Chelsea. Atletico are almost certain to break the Spanish monopoly this season, currently sitting top of La Liga ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
They have also been superb in the pressure cauldron that is the Champions League, having sent both AC Milan and Barcelona packing in the elimination rounds. This is a tough test for Chelsea who don’t have a whole lot of goals in them – so much so they may well look at this tie as damage control ahead of the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week. It’s just hard to see them stopping this superb Atletico side.
