It was only a week ago that most predicted Roger Federer’s Australian Open campaign would be well and truly over by now given his struggles in 2013, but back to full fitness it has been the Federer of old as he has steamrolled his way past Jo Wilfried-Tsonga and Andy Murray to reach the semi-finals.
This match provides a much tougher test against old rival and current world number one Rafael Nadal, however Nadal has been struggling with injury concerns of his own the past few matches – particularly blistering on his hands – and if he is below his best against the “Fed Express” he could find it difficult to keep up. We’re going to go for Federer to power through to another Grand Slam final.
