The first of this weekend’s grand final qualifiers in Australia’s National Rugby League sees traditional rivals South Sydney and the Sydney Roosters clash with the winner earning a place in the decider!
There is certainly no love lost between these two sides and we can expect a brutal battle between the two tonight, but we’re leaning towards the Rabbitohs. Although the Roosters beat them only three weeks ago to steal the minor premiership, they faded badly late in the game as a 22-8 lead became a narrow 22-18 win.
That trend has repeated since with the Roosters blowing a late lead against Penrith to lose by a point, then incredibly blow a 30-point lead against North Queensland before recovering just in time. Meanwhile, Souths boosted their confidence by thrashing Manly in the first week of the finals and have enjoyed a much needed week off, so they will be well rested.
