Round 2 of the AFL sees a Friday night blockbuster between Essendon and Hawthorn in a clash that will tell us a lot about these two sides in 2014.
Essendon surprised many with their impressive display against North Melbourne last week and they’ll be keen to make a statement against the reigning premiers, but we’re more than a little concerned by the off-field distractions that have plagued the Bombers all week with talk of currently suspended coach James Hird being sacked (which he wasn’t).
The Hawks have done nothing to suggest they won’t be a force again this year so we’ll stick with them for now.
