Southampton have another chance to build on their impressive season to date when they travel to fellow Premier League club Stoke looking to cement a berth in the League Cup quarter finals.
This clash comes just four days after the Saints beat Stoke 1-0 in the EPL and although Stoke can at least look forward to this one being played on home soil, it’s hard to ignore their awful record against Southampton with just three wins in their past 24 clashes.
Stoke rank 18th in the League for goals scored this season while Southampton have conceded just five – the best defensive record of all 20 clubs. The home side just don’t have the firepower to compete.
