Who would have picked this as a blockbuster at the start of the season? Southampton have been the surprise packets of the season and despite having much of their squad plucked away by battling Liverpool the Saints sit second on the EPL ladder – two points clear of today’s opponent Manchester City.
We’ve had plenty of success too backing Southampton over the past month or so, but recent results have us leaning towards the defending EPL champions. First is last week’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in a game the Saints were expected to win comfortably. And then there’s two confidence building comeback wins from City – the first against Swansea in the Premiership last week and most notably a 3-2 result over Bayern Munich in the Champions League. City to win.
