Welcome to What’s on this Week – your weekly guide to everything there is to see and do in Macau over the coming seven days. There is no shortage of exciting adventures to take part in this week. Why not spend a few hours wandering around the Taipa Flea Market or see some amazing skills on display at the 1st Macau International Martial Arts Competition? Taipa Flea Market
Taipa Flea Market is easily accessible from Taipa High Street and comprises dozens of stalls selling hundreds of fascinating items! From traditional delicacies, period postcards and stamps to lamps, jade pieces, jewellery, coins, toys and collectibles. Visitors regularly flock to the market in the heart of the old village searching for that elusive souvenir and few come away disappointed! The district also hosts an interactive street event from 16:00 to 17:30 featuring music and dance shows.

Crossroads .Another Dimension
Crossroads .Another Dimension. This Cross-Strait Four-Regions Artistic Exchange Project brings together 16 artists from Shenzhen, Macau, Kaohsiung and Hong Kong in a touring exhibition of the four cities. The theme refers to the constant flow and transfiguration of the existence and creation space of the artists, along with the globalization and the reality of the cross-strait and four regions.

An innovative and award-winning local artist, Mak Kwong Weng’s works are diverse and mature. David Tao – The Glamorous Life 2013 World Tour Macao
Best known for his signature R&B and hard rock crossover style, the multiple Taiwanese Golden Melody Award winner recently launched his seventh album, Hello Goodbye. The pop star, who lived for some time in Hong Kong and the United States, shot to fame in 1997 with his debut self-titled album, setting a record in Taiwan at the 9th Golden Melody Awards with five award nominations. Tao is set to sing close to 40 songs for this upcoming show.

Fun Fishing Boat Cruise
Want to have fun while helping a worthy cause? Embark upon this unique cruise at Doca da Ilha Verde where it will depart for the Inner Harbour, the Sai Van Bridge, Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge and Kun Iam Statue before returning. Backyard – New Works by James Chu
One of Macau’s most prominent artists, designers and curators, James Chu has just launched his first local solo exhibition of the year. With the restorative atmosphere of a backyard increasingly difficult to find in modern society, Chu searches out the territory where the human spirit can fly. In this exhibition, the artist showcases his nine newest pieces, mainly in mixed media, with the sale of some of his works earmarked for ORBIS Macau and ANIMA Macau.

The Glorious Era of Julius Caesar – Military Science and Technology in Roman Republic

Japanese calligrapher Inoue Yuichi once described the process of creation as a conflict between oneself and one’s internalized pain.
