Gypsy Jazz Quartet – “Gadjo Station”
Summer means it’s time for the Sofitel’s Fête de la Musique (World Music Day), the fourth such annual celebration at Sofitel hotels around the region. The programme will comprise three 40-minute sets, with a round of complimentary beverage and canapés, followed by Happy Hour for guests to enjoy during the evening.

The Glorious Era of Julius Caesar – Military Science and Technology in Roman Republic
This exhibition will showcase more than 100 interactive models and replicas of inventions and machines reconstructed by the expert artisans from Florence, Italy, including ancient weaponry, military accessories of the Roman army, ancient construction and surveying tools, maps and daily utensils. It will enable visitors to explore the military achievements, technologies and different lifestyles of the ancient Romans.

São João Festival
The São João Festival is a religious thanksgiving full of dancing and singing as well as traditional games. The consumption of typical Portuguese and Macanese snacks such as pork steaks, grilled sardines and ‘chouriço’ pork sausages are time-honoured elements of the Festival, as are handicraft booths and lots of kids’ activities.

Hippie – J Lo Solo Exhibition
Japanese calligrapher Inoue Yuichi once described the process of creation as a conflict between oneself and one’s internalized pain. The works displayed here consist of improvisational dots, lines and color. Each brush is drawn in a peaceful state of mind, reflecting the image in his heart onto the surface.

Fantasy World – Chinoiserie
Europe has long held a fascination with Chinese culture, dating back as far as the Ming dynasty when missionaries brought Chinese philosophy, art, religion, science and technology back home with them. Dubbed Chinoiserie, this fashion permeated many facets of European life. This exhibition traces the origins of Chinoiserie and its influence in France with over 80 valuable items including paintings, prints, ceramics and tapestries.

One of the most influential thinkers in the world, Jean Baudrillard’s unique photographic theory allowed him to express a different way of looking at the world.
