Wynn Palace is yet to formally announce its opening date but all indications are pointing to 23 August as the first day of operations.
Union Gaming’s Grant Govertsen said in a note that the property’s website had begun taking bookings for 23 August late last week with Union Gaming subsequently making a successful booking for that date. It also fits in with recent rumors pointing to an opening on the 22 or 23 August.
It seems rooms at Steve Wynn’s new flagship Macau property won’t come cheap, however.
“A quick glance at room rates at Wynn Palace suggest they are being priced at a premium to rooms at Wynn Macau on the peninsula in the early days of operations,” Govertsen said.
“For example, the weekend of 26 to 28 August yields a base-level room rate of HK$2,888 at Wynn Palace v HK$2,488 at Wynn Macau. A Parlor Suite at Wynn Palace runs HK$5,488 v a one-bedroom suite at Wynn Macau at HK$4,588.
“Finally, the highest-end suite (available for booking) at Wynn Palace is HK$D29,488 vs. a nearly identically sized suite at Wynn Macau at HK$D23,000.”
Govertsen also predicted that The Parisian Macao would open within 30 days of Wynn Palace.
