For a city of just 650,000 residents, Macau certainly punches above its weight.

Over the years, I’ve run into countless international friends who have asked me what there is to do in Macau. The obvious answer is to visit any or all of Macau’s casinos and integrated resorts.

As the opening of Macau’s newest luxury hotel – Morpheus at City of Dreams – in June shows, the sheer range of entertainment options available at this vast and varied array of resorts is enough to keep you occupied for months on end.

But there is just as much to see and do elsewhere too. Personally, I love heading down to old Macau to enjoy the city as it used to be, complete with a huge array of cheap and authentic dining options. Alternatively, taking a casual wander along the beaches and boulevards in Coloane is a great way to wind down and enjoy nature.

While you’re here in Macau, make sure you take the time to look around – you might be surprised by what you find.
