APT headed to China

The Asian Poker Tour has achieved many things since it was launched in 2006, but it has never held an event on Mainland China … until now.

Fresh from the success of the inaugural APT Sydney tournament, which set a record for the most players at an APT event with 648, as well as their successful tilt at the longest continuous poker tournament which ran for more than 48 hours in Manila, the APT last week announced APT China.

This ground breaking event is set to be held from 18 June to 25 June 2014 at the Chimelong Paradise Hotel Convention Center in Guangzhou and will feature 10 side events as well as the US$1,800 main event.

“We are the Asian Poker Tour, we should have a presence in China,” said APT boss Jeff Mann. “It is a growing poker market and we are seeing talented Chinese poker players at all of our events in increasing numbers.”
