APT heading to Vietnam!

Written by Ben Blaschke

WGM’s parent company World Gaming Group (WGG) announced today that The Grand Ho Tram Strip will host Vietnam’s first major international poker festival this year with APT Vietnam to be held from 6 May to 13 May.

The Grand recently appointed WGG to create, develop and maintain the property’s poker operations and the opportunity to host a brand new leg of the Asian Poker Tour is an exciting step forward. It also presents a unique chance for players to experience what no other gaming destination in Asia can offer – a 5-star international standard integrated resort sitting alongside a pristine beach stretching more than 2km and a world class golf course designed by none other than Greg Norman.

President of The Grand Ho Tram Strip, Shaun McCamley said, “Following our signing of an agreement with WGG last month, it is extremely exciting to be able to announce the first ever international, world-class poker tournament in Vietnam will be played at the Grand Ho Tram Strip. We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing one of the world’s most recognizable poker brands – the Asian Poker Tour – to Ho Tram.”

The APT has staged 31 international poker events in nine different countries since its foundation in 2008 but this will be the first time it has visited Vietnam.

Chief Executive Officer of WGG, Andrew W Scott, said, “Over the last five years the APT has deservedly built a strong reputation with poker players across Asia and indeed the world as a professional, well-run tour with poker festivals that are profitable and fun to play. Make sure to clear your diaries from May 6 to 13!”

WGM will bring you the full APT Vietnam schedule in the coming weeks.
