Asian Tour set for Vietnam

Written by Ben Blaschke

Vietnam’s Ho Tram Strip has become the newest stop on golf’s Asian Tour with the inaugural Ho Tram Open to be held from 3 to 6 December 2015.

The Ho Tram Open will be the first professional event to be played at the magnificent The Bluffs golf course. Designed by none other than former world number one Greg Norman, The Bluffs opened in 2014 and offers links style play and five star facilities – not to mention its visually stunning beachside location.

The three year agreement will see the Ho Tram Open run through to at least 2017 with the lucrative US$1.5 million prize pool immediately positioning it amongst the Asian Tour’s most prestigious events. It is one of four new stops on the Asian Tour this year along with Dubai, Mauritius and Malaysia.

It also continues a concerted push to promote the Ho Tram Strip to the world with Vietnam’s first major poker festival, APT Vietnam, to be held at Ho Tram Resort Casino from 6 to 13 May.

Course ambassador Robert Rock – a two time winner on the European Tour – will be among the players competing in what promises to be a landmark event.
