For many, the men’s marathon is an event which represents the Olympic spirit. We have seen incredible feats of bravery and heartbreaking collapses in this race over the years. In fact, there is no other event that can lay claim to such an incredible history. Now for the hard question – a winner. The age-old battle between the two powerhouses of long distance running, the Kenyans and the Ethiopians, rages on. Let’s go with Ethiopian Ayele Abshero to edge out Kenyans Kipsang and Kirui. It should come down to these three when the whips start cracking and runners start to wish they were sprinters.
